Next, I decided to run the file through Audacity's Crackle Remover Tool, but to no avail. I didn't expect to totally fix the issue by doing this, but I figured it was a start. His voice actually comes through very clearly, but the mP3 is now full of crackling noises that are not easy on the ears. I decided to raise the volume in an editing software (Audacity), export the file, then raise the audio again, just to see what the quality of the audio sounded like. Recently, my friend and I were recording a podcast, but (I think) the gain on his microphone was set too low.
I am looking to see what my options are for removing cracking/popping sounds from an audio file.
